Yohji Yamamoto is no stranger when it comes to Futurecraft 4D. The first designer to tackle adidas’ innovative technology back in 2018, he has since worked on four other releases. Now, as part of his summer 2020 Collection, he has taken the wraps off the latest Y-3 Runner 4D, and it’s unlike anything that we’ve seen before.
Infusing the three Stripes’ revolutionary midsole with a premium choice of fabrics and a striking design, the Japanese icon’s latest sneaker is available in two colourways, including “Black” and “Black/Solar Orange”. With a sporty mesh construction that’s perfect for the warmer months, luxurious leather and suede accents also make their way throughout the shoe.

Thick embroidered accents can be found across the lateral and medial sides and toe box, and down below, you’ll find a fully blacked out Futurecraft 4D midsole that continues to blow our minds even after three years. Made using a process called digital Light Synthesis, it essentially combines light and oxygen to create the unique intricate lattice. This results in an insane amount of cushioning with every step. To round it all off, Yamamoto’s signature logo adorns the tongue and heel, finalising the design.
Releasing on July 17th, the adidas Y-3 Runner 4D is sure to change the game. let us know if you’ll be adding these to your collection, and make sure you take your first look at the adidas Ultra 4D “OG”!
